After my Michael Kors Rose Gold watch debacle, I was left missing a little rose gold in my life. During my normal stroll around TJ Maxx's jewelry department I came across this gem.
Now before purchasing the Michael Kors version, I did consider the Fossil version because it was a whopping $150 cheaper. I looked a few times at my Fossil store and it always seemed to be sold out. Without getting to see it in person- I wasn't willing to purchase it.
Luckily for me, TJ Maxx came to the rescue and had it in the store ready for me to try on! I instantly knew we would be a perfect match. Instead of the normal $95 price tag, it was marked down to $49.99. I knew the rose gold would most likely slightly rub off (as the Michael Kors version did) and while it did end up happening after one day of use, I'm ok with it. Spending $49.99 on a watch with a little wear is a lot better than spending $250 on a watch with the wear.
In the end, I'm happy to have a little rose gold back in my life. As always, TJ Maxx jewelry counter stalking pays off!
So I have literally owned this watch for 30 days and look what is happening already...
I paid over $200 for a watch and this is what I get?! The rose gold is already wearing off!! You better bet I was on the phone with the warranty company TODAY aka the day after I realized it. I told the person on the phone that even though the warranty doesn't cover the band, they HAD to do something! She agreed with me saying that this shouldn't start happening so quickly and said that I could send it in for them to replace the band.
I guess I'm happy. But I'm also scared this will just happen again. I'm pretty sure most rose gold watches are just plated-- so I may just have to be more careful.
So as some of you know, I just got back from a cruise to the Caribbean. Aside from the beautiful water and great weather, shopping is something you have to do while there. Well, let me clarify, duty free shopping that is. I have been on the hunt for a rose gold watch recently and I couldn’t decide if I wanted the Fossil version or the Michael Kors version. Fossil’s version would set me back $95 while the Michael Kors version would cost me $250. As soon as we arrived at St. Thomas I hit the streets on the hunt for rose gold. Barely any stores sold the Fossil version, so Michael Kors it was. Most of the stores would only take off 10% but I was hoping to find a better deal. One store promised me 15% but when we arrived they only ended up having the rose gold watch with a white face. Although it was pretty, I much preferred the fully rose gold watch.
Finally on our way back to the boat I strolled into one last store, which had the watch. I tried to get more than 10% off but they wouldn’t budge. As my father and I headed out of the store, they called out and asked, “How will you be paying?” We replied “cash” and so they gave us 15% off!
My final price for this beauty was $212, no tax! Not too shabby! I literally can’t get over how unique this color is and I recommend to everyone that they at least try it on at the store! Don’t yell at me if you end up loving it and walking home with one for yourself!
